In December 2018, Glasgow West in collaboration with Glasgow City Council, wrote to residents of Berkeley Street and Brechin Street acknowledging concerns raised following a change in operational refuse collection arrangements from Glasgow City Council. Glasgow West Housing Association and Glasgow West Enterprises are working to alleviate these concerns.

At this time, Glasgow West are in the process of negotiating terms for the appointment of a specialist consultant to assist in the development of a number of the back courts within Berkeley Street. The intention of this is to find an appropriate solution that will allow the bins to be removed from the street and returned to the back courts. This project is still at an early stage but we will look to provide regular updates as often as possible.

We appreciate that this matter is causing some distress to residents and we hope that by working in partnership with the stakeholders involved we can resolve this issue in a satisfactory manner. We appreciate your continued patience as we work towards a solution.
