GWHA has an Environmental Strategy that aims to tackle dilapidated back court and open space areas.

ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGY

Possible solutions are recorded in an environmental register. The register identifies a number of potential solutions, which include:

security lighting
low maintenance planting
recycling bins
seating areas
replacement gates, fences, railings, clothes posts etc
Money alone will not solve the problems and a solutions need to ensure any improvement works don’t fall back into disrepair.

Improvements are expensive. GWHA does not have funds to carry out the works. Approaches have been made to potential funders has to secure funding.

Phase 1 of a pilot improvement project is planned to start in March 05.
