2ND BALLOT RESULT

A RESOUNDING YES VOTE FROM TENANTS !

The Glasgow Housing Association Ltd (GHA), as the current landlord, recently wrote to all Hyndland tenants to advise of the ballot result – a resounding Yes vote from tenants in favour of transfer to Glasgow West HA. There was an extremely high turnout with 76.9% of tenants voting and we are delighted that 83.8% of tenants who voted, voted in favour of transfer to Glasgow West.

Dave Sim, GWHA MC Chairperson stated ‘’ This is a fantastic result and the turnout gives Glasgow West a clear mandate. We have been working towards Second Stage Transfer for a number of years,  and the Management Committee, Local Management Committee (LMC) and all Glasgow West staff would like to thank GHA tenants in Hyndland for their support, and confidence in us and Community Ownership’’.

John Banks, LMC Chairperson said ‘’ This is an exciting time for the MC, LMC and tenants and we are delighted with the result. Hyndland tenants voted for Glasgow West HA as the Local Housing Organisation (LHO) way back in 2003 and it has been delivering the day to day Housing Management services on behalf of GHA since April 2004. It has taken longer than expected to get to this point but we face 2009 with renewed optimism and enthusiasm to the actual transfer of ownership and finally joining Glasgow West HA’’.
